Leadership Series | Neighborhood News & Views | November 7, 2018

On Saturday, October 20th we hosted the North Omaha Neighborhood Leadership Academy at the North Omaha Girls Inc. Campus. This one day series of workshops was attended by neighborhood leaders and advocates from a variety of neighborhood associations, non-profits, and other community based organizations. Workshops were presented by Mike McGuire and Julie Smith from One Omaha, former One Omaha advisory board chair Oscar Duran, and Big Muddy Urban Farm Executive Directory Brent Lubbert. The topics presented were Grant Writing, Fundraising, Volunteer Recruitment and Management, Neighborhood Newsletters, Formalization, Meeting Facilitation, and Neighborhood Revitalization. We also had a guest presentation on voter turnout by the UNO College of Public Affairs and Community Service. The goal of the Neighborhood Leadership Academy is to provide an opportunity for skill and capacity building for community leaders and organizations. Visioning for Neighborhood Grants Program Begins
